# Categories ### OVERVIEW *** The category component is an advanced tool for the precise segmentation of content in a content management system (CMS). It makes it possible to recognise and assign different types of content, such as static pages, articles or events, to the appropriate navigation sections. The component integrates with both the main menu and the footer of the page, ensuring a consistent and intuitive distribution of content. Umpire manages and stores category information, providing a uniform and consistent data structure throughout the system. This gives administrators complete visibility and control over all categories, enabling effective content management and organisation. ### ACCESS *** To access Categories settings: Open side menu Expand SETTING section. Select Categories position to open the module.
Categories Management Dashboard will open
### NEW CATEGORY *** To Create a New Category: 1\. Use the New Category button.
2. Type in name of the Category.

Open options menu and select edit option.

#### BROWSE *** **To change pages** use pagination navigation buttons.
**To see how many pages** there are, see the page counter located in the bottom left corner.
**To see how many items** there are see the rows counter located in the bottom right corner.
